My Dad asked me to help him with a website today that he has been volunteering with. The original creator used WordPress and the TwentyTen theme. Everything worked well, but Dad wanted a right-side sidebar. I decided to overhaul it with Thesis, as it’s such great theme to use.

One of his requests was to be able to link to YouTube videos, and have them pop-up without taking the person off the page, or actually having the video on the site. I knew a Lightbox was what he wanted, but it was tricky to find one. Read more »

Last week, I was lucky enough to spend 8 days and 7 nights cruising the Caribbean with 400 marketers on Mike Filsaime’s “Marketers Cruise”. It had been about 7 years since my last cruise, and I quickly realized that being over 21 had its benefits when you’re on a boat for 8 days. The new friends that I made, including all the questionably-sane Mavericks, the opportunity seekers and the value givers was an awesome present. With my work at Tech Guys, I was told that using the Facebook Comment engine gets, on average, more responses from blog viewers than does any of the fancy commenting engines available (DISQUS, OpenID, etc.). Now, our tech team only installs the Facebook Comment engine on our clients site that want their viewers to comment. Read more »
